Jimmy Fallon – The Tonight show

Spread the love

Learn all the tips for getting tickets to the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

  • Tickets are released in batches of one month at a time.
  • Typically, the ticket batch goes live the first week of each month, for tickets the following month. For example, during the first week of October, you could apply for tickets for the month of November.
  • Friday is usually the day that the tickets are released, at 11:30 AM Eastern Time.
  • SUPER IMPORTANT! You must have a 1iota account to apply for tickets. This should be done in advance because tickets go quickly and you will lose your chance if your don’t already have a 1iota account set up beforehand. Sign up for an account here.
  • When the site finally goes live, you can apply for a certain date. At that time, you are placed on a waiting list. Just because you were able to apply, that does not mean that you have confirmed tickets. You will generally be contacted at least two weeks before the date that you requested to let you know if you have confirmed tickets or not. If you don’t hear from them and there is less than two weeks before your requested date, you most likely do not have tickets. Don’t worry though, you may be able to attend via standby. Keep reading for tips on that.
  • If you don’t get confirmed tickets, don’t worry, there’s still a possibility of getting two VIP tickets to the show, getting in via standby, or seeing the rehearsal/monologue. Keep reading for more details.
  • If you are ready to apply, the link can be found at the end of this article.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE 1IOTA APP:

  • The Tonight Show uses 1Iota to complete the ticket process for guests. 1Iota has an application for cell phones, that is nice, but has limitations. As of December 5, 2017, the Tonight Show requires guests to show the email or a printout of the email that they received with the ticket information. Although the 1Iota application contains a digital version of this information, representatives from the Tonight Show will still ask to see either the email, or the printed copy. Because of this, it is best practice to have a physical copy printed out and in hand before entering the studio. This will help you to be processed more efficiently. Some guests have reported being asked to step aside and find the original email when using the app, wasting valuable time, and allowing other guests to enter the studio before them. Don’t let that happen to you! Print a copy, or have the original email pulled up and ready to display. If you have had a different experience with the application, or if the Tonight Show has started allowing the app, please let us know using the contact form below.

STANDBY TICKETS

Here is a great compilation of our best Jimmy Fallon Standby tickets tips:

  • Step one, call to make sure that they are filming on the day that you are wanting to attend. Unlike some other shows, the Tonight Show does not film a season, and then take a long break from filming. Instead, they film for a while, then stop for a little bit, and then continue filming for a while again. For this reason, be sure to call (212) 664-3056 to confirm. The ticket office is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time. It is recommended to call the day before, as the standby line usually starts lining up before 9:00 AM.

The standby line takes a long time! I personally spent about 7 hours waiting in it. Make sure you bring a battery pack to keep your phone running for that long wait. I use this Anker battery pack and I have always had great experiences with it. You should also pack some headphones.

  • The Representatives from the Tonight Show will begin distributing standby tickets at 9:00 AM. However, the line generally begins forming well ahead of that time.
  • Each person in line is only given one ticket. You may not get one for another person who is not present.
  • There is no saving spots. This is heavily enforced. If you leave the line for any reason, you are back at the end.
  • You need to bring a government issued identification with you to get your standby ticket.
  • Guests must be 16 years or older to attend. Even if you are with an adult, guests under 16 are not permitted to attend.
  • Be aware that although you may get a standby ticket, you are not guaranteed admission. Tickets are basically just a number in line. After you get yours, you come back at a specified time to check in. At that point, they reps have a better idea of how many confirmed guests will not be attending that day. Because of this, they will usually say something to the effect of, “guests with numbers 1-8 will most likely get in. Guests 9-30 are most likely not going to get in.” This is based on how many confirmed guests have checked in. It is pretty accurate. However, somebody may have something come up last minute, so it is possible that somebody 9-30 for example could get in still.
  • See the map below for a better idea of where to line up. Basically, there is a door labeled “observation deck” located in front of the NBS Experience store. This is where the reps will come out of. The line starts a little farther back, and moves towards this doorway. You can view NBC’s official map here. Below, we have provided a google maps image to help you out since you will most likely not be familiar with the nearby places. Refer to the official map to make sure you are in the right place. My best advice is that if nobody is in line already, to make sure that newcomers know that you are in the front of the line. That way you can make sure that you don’t lose your place.
  • A rather odd thing about this standby line is that NBC does not like people to sit on the sidewalk. Even if you are out of the way, they occasionally come out and tell you to stand up. If you are able to under your travel circumstances, you may want to bring a small camping chair. After you get your ticket, you get to leave for a few hours, so you could put it in your car or hotel room and come back.

  • It is a long morning waiting, so being comfortable is a must! Also, having snacks is a great idea. There is a (mens) bathroom right inside the door of the studios, but remember that you are supposed to lose your place in line if you leave for any reason. So, depending on the other line members, needing to use the bathroom could be a problem. I’m not sure how close the ladies room is – sorry.
  • If you are going the standby route, consider one of these umbrella’s to keep you dry! The last thing that you want is to be soaking wet for several hours in the street.

What if you can’t get standby or regular tickets?

  • Jimmy Fallon has a limited number of rehearsal seats that you can try for. They are actually a very unique experience. Only a small crowd of people are admitted to the rehearsal, so sometimes you get a more personal experience with Jimmy Fallon during this time. Although, sometimes you don’t.
  • Before we give you the site to get these tickets, please be aware that you cannot attend a rehearsal and be admitted with standby tickets because the times conflict for checking in. As with regular tickets, you are given advance notice if you will be admitted to the rehearsal, so if you don’t hear back before two weeks out, then standby is your best bet. Both opportunities are cool for different reasons.

Jimmy Fallon monologue tickets review:

  • The monologues are actually quite a bit of fun! Maybe you are wondering if it is worth going clear to New York just to see the monologue… Well, probably not. Don’t get me wrong, the monologue is amazing, and if you catch it during a show that they are filming an extra skit, it is even better. But, the monologue is relatively short. So, if you have a pretty good standby ticket number, I personally would go for that option, rather than the monologue. However, if you don’t think that you will be able to see Jimmy Fallon in your lifetime any other way, then go to the rehearsal for sure. Be sure to check out my final tips below for one more way to see the show!

One final way to attend a taping:

  • Follow @FallonTonight on Twitter and Instagram. Every Thursday that they are filming they will tweet out a a location in New York where there intern is waiting with two VIP tickets to that nights showing. This will occur just before noon Eastern Time. The first person to find them, gets the tickets.

Our best advice going forward: Many guests have let us know that they received inaccurate, or incomplete information from employees in the building. Specifically, they have been guided to one line, instead of another. So, we would suggest quickly asking the people in front of you what the line is for as well, just to verify that you are in the right place. There are a lot of people, with a variety of positions in the building, working for different shows, so don’t expect everybody to have the right information for you. Double check everything you hear or read. Don’t wait in the wrong line for hours and miss your chance like some people have.

Although you can’t wear it to the actual show, this shirt is a lot of fun to wear around New York City. You will feel like a local in no time.
